Dear all I'd be grateful if you could forward this message to other British anti-sanctions activists! The National Coordinating Meeting is where people trying to get the economic sanctions on Iraq lifted immediately and unconditionally get together to share ideas and information, and plan joint activities. Out of such meetings have come two successful National Petitions against the economic sanctions, several conferences and speaking tours, and a series of National Days and Weeks of Action against the sanctions on Iraq. The latest NCM in London has called for an international period of action in the run-up to the possible adoption of the "smart sanctions" resolution at the UN, from 20 - 30 November 2001. NCMs are where anti-sanctions activists go to get re-energised, re-inspired and well-informed. Core members of the NCM are Act Together (Women Against the Economic Sanctions on Iraq), CASI (the Cambridge student campaigning group), and Voices in the Wilderness UK. All groups (and individual activists) committed to the lifting of economic sanctions on Iraq are welcome to participate in NCM meetings. The next meetings are 22 September, in Cambridge (details to be circulated by email on 8 September), and then 3 November, in London (Torriano Meeting House, 99 Torriano Avenue, London NW5, nearest tube Kentish Town). NCMs run from 11am to 4pm with a break for lunch.
