SUNDAY 17th JANUARY Demonstration, procession and then nonviolent sit-down protest against war and sanctions on Iraq. Gather 1pm Trafalgar Square, London. Noisey demonstration in Trafalgar Square. Silent funeral procession (please try to wear black) to lay wreathes at the Cenotaph, ending in mass sit-down. Please don't give in to fatalism. Popular protest can help curb western action. Iraqi lives depend on our actions - against bombing and economic sanctions. Called by the January 17th Action Group, an ad hoc group of peace activists. Supported by Voices In the Wilderness UK and Nonviolent Resistance Network. There will be a briefing, affinity group formation and nonviolence training at 5.30pm on Saturday 16th January at Quaker International Centre, Byng Place, near London. People are welcome just to attend the demonstration and procession and opt out of the sit-down.
