Subject: 17 JANUARY DEMO: AGAINST BOMBING AND SANCTIONS

Please spread the below information far and wide. Thanks.

SUNDAY 17th JANUARY
Demonstration, procession and then nonviolent sit-down protest against war
and sanctions on Iraq.
Gather 1pm Trafalgar Square, London.
Noisey demonstration in Trafalgar Square.
Silent funeral procession (please try to wear black) to lay wreathes at the
Cenotaph, ending in mass sit-down.

Please don't give in to fatalism. Popular protest can help curb western
action. Iraqi lives depend on our actions - against bombing and economic
sanctions.

Called by the January 17th Action Group, an ad hoc group of peace
activists. Supported by Voices In the Wilderness UK and Nonviolent
Resistance Network.

There will be a briefing, affinity group formation and nonviolence training
at 5.30pm on Saturday 16th January at Quaker International Centre, Byng
Place, near London.

People are welcome just to attend the demonstration and procession and opt
out of the sit-down.

For more information, please call Anna 0181 525 5392 or 0181 444 1605.
