MARCH AND RALLY
FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE. London, Saturday April 17
1999
Libya 1986 …
Iraq 1999 … No more bombings! Lift the
sanctions!
Dear friends,
OPEN PLANNING MEETINGS
The plans for the April demonstration are going ahead on a growing scale, with coaches being arranged to bring in demonstrators from a number of towns. All major events in London are now being leafleted, and the march is widely advertised in the labour and peace press. The dates for open planning
meetings are as follows:
Sunday February 28 at 2.30 p.m. Birmingham.
Phone 0171 436 4636 for confirmation.
Tuesday March 23 at 7.00 p.m.
London, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, WC1. Confirmed. Would local campaigning groups please urgently
establish contact with us. In particular, if they are unable to attend
these meetings, would they phone in and give suggestions, comments, messages to
the meetings, etc.
We hope that this
demonstration and the preparations for it may lead to a new stage in the
formation of a genuinely national coalition of campaigning groups that can
re-launch the massive peace movement which existed in 1990-1991 and which the
Iraqi people now need more than ever.
In solidarity,
Hugh
