thanks for your well-informed and persuasive post.
You seem annoyed that the issue has been raised, though, saying, wearily
"No doubt someone will come back at this with
 further, tortuous explications in an attempt to demonstrate that it
 really was the Iranians that did it." No one, at least in the last few
posts on this, has actually suggested that the Iranians did it. People have
merely requested discussion of the issue with a view to clarifying what
happened. After all, the CASI list  is a discussion forum, is it not?  And I
think that any further constructive contributions should be welcomed, rather
