[casi] Letter to L.A.Times re U.S. use of Nuclear Weapons

[ Presenting plain-text part of multi-format email ]

Thanks Uoices UK for the alert. Here's my response to the L.A. Times:

Re "A Secret Plan Outlines the Unthinkable" (March 10), the U.S. Defense
Department acts as if there were "over theres" in the world where the
U.S. could use nuclear weapons without harming itself.

The Rev. William Sloane Coffin, Jr., put it well when he referred to all
human beings on our tiny planet as passengers in the same boat. "When
you shoot a hole in the other side of the boat," he said, "we all sink."

Sincerely, Suzy T. Kane
