[casi] Food-for-Oil "suspended"

[ Presenting plain-text part of multi-format email ]

Clare Short is in DC trying to persuade the Bush administration into putting reconstruction and
humanitarian aid to Iraq under United Nations, rather than US government control.

The UN mandated Food-for-Oil program has been suspended.

  By whom?
Bush has allocated thousands of tons of US wheat to be eventually sent to Iraq. Midwest US farmers
will be happy- election 2004 may be in Junior's mind.

Australian farmers had been receiving $800 million yearly to export their wheat under the UN
Food-for-Oil program.
Can Clare Short wrestle this Bush boondagle out of Bush's greedy hands? pg, NYC
