[ Presenting plain-text part of multi-format email ] Dear Friends, Tonight in New York City at the Sufi Bookstore I had the honor and good fortune to see Rahim Alhaj, one of Iraq's finest Oud Players. Most of the songs were about the people of Iraq and what they are going thru. Rahim was exiled from Iraq in 1991 because he opposed the government of Saddam H. He is an incredible musician and each song had a story. He will be at Columbia University Monday April 7 at 4 PM at Dodge Hall Room 620. Columbia University is located at 116 Broadway on the #1 line. Rahim will also be on www.wbai.org at 2PM NYC time on Tuesday. Of course WBAI radio is the station that airs Democracy Now which everyone is familiar with. If you go to the wbai website at NYC TIME 2PM and click on listen, he will be on an arts magazine which will feature Rahim Alhaj as one of the produced segments. Art is as important to world peace as protesting and boycotting etc. Peace.
