It occurs to me that while large masses of people have taken to the
streets to protest the war, and against Bush, I haven't heard of any
marching on the entity which perhaps bears the most responsibility: the
mainstream news media. If they had performed responsible journalism the
American public might have been well enough informed that the political
pressure would have prevented the war -- and now the evil deeds of the US
in the postwar period.

Moreover, the media does have to be concerned with public opinion: teir
ratings are at stake, and thus the revenue from the advertisers. This
might be an effective pressure point for change, if enough people are
still willing to take to the streets and protest for a fair news media.

I'm going to forward this post to the peace actions groups I have contact
with. Maybe some of you can do the same?
