Follow the link below to an interesting article about the Al-Fatih school in Herndon, Va. The children there had created relief kits and written letters to send to Iraq through Mennonite Central Committee, a relief, development and peace organization of North American Mennonites and Brethren in Christ congregations. MCC is now delivering the kits and set up a phone conversation with the children so they could ask questions about the situation in Iraq. They were even able to talk Arabic with a local person. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A23352-2003May21.html You can learn more about the work of MCC in Iraq by going to our Web site http://www.mcc.org/respond/rapid_respond/iraq/index.html In addition, MCC is a part of a larger effort called All Our Children. This is a campaign by North Americans to provide critical health care to vulnerable children in Iraq. http://www.allourchildren.org Larry Guengerich Mennonite Central Committee Media and Education Coordinator (717) 859-1152 #282 <lrg@mcc.org> http://www.mcc.org For the latest on MCC's work, please visit the MCC Web site at http://www.mcc.org _______________________________________________ Sent via the discussion list of the Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq.
